Shin Shin Ryu Iai jutsu is a 400 year old Japanese sword
art, founded by Sekiguchi Yagouemon Ujinari of the Imagawa
clan. Teachings include the use of a katana, wakizashi and
tanto. All techniques are taught through the
traditional means of kata, kumitachi and tameshigiri.
Kieko(practice) at the Ryushinkan is led by Dan Keupp the
head instructor and owner of the Ryushinkan Dojo. Keupp
Sensei started his Martial Arts training in 1983 and has
trained in various forms of Martial arts. He is a direct
student of Yamada Yoshitaka the 11th Soke of Shin Shin Ryu
Iai Jutsu and Carl McClafferty the American Renmei cho. In
February of 2007 Keupp Sensei was promoted to Rokudan and
received his Renshi license from Yamada Sensei.
